PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate updating of information relating to a transmission destination of data. SOLUTION: A data communication system includes a server and an MFP which are communicable with each other. The MFP transmits to a server an updating request signal containing a transmission source address of electronic mail received from another apparatus and related information of a transmission source (S101), transmits an address request to the server (S106), receives from the server address data by users (S107), and transmits data to a transmission destination address contained in at least one of received address data units by users (S110). The server stores address data by users associating transmission destination addresses with related information about transmission destinations and rewrites, when the updating request signal is received from the MFP, related information associated, by the address data by users, with a transmission source address contained in the updating request signal with the related information contained in the updating request signal.
