PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily carry out an update processing of program information data according to the reorganization of a program when the program is reorganized. SOLUTION: In the broadcast receiver 1 for a vehicle comprising a receiving unit 4 for receiving a broadcast wave signal transmitted from a preset broadcast station 2, and an output unit 5 for outputting broadcast data corresponding to the broadcast wave signal received, there are provided a program information detecting means 18 for detecting whether broadcast programs of the broadcast station 2 are reorganized while the broadcast receiver 1 is powered on; an update means 19 for updating the program information data in the case where it is detected by the program information detecting means 18 that the broadcast programs are reorganized; and a power supply holding means 20 for holding the broadcast receiver 1 in a power-on state when carrying out update processing due to the update means 19.
