PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of detecting the position of a drop stuck on a lens surface without any additional mechanism. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises a drop detection means 13 including: an imaging device 12 for imaging a subject; a lens 11 for convergence onto the imaging device 12; a high-frequency pixel specifying section 14 for specifying a high-frequency pixel from among pixels of a video image formed from a video signal outputted from the imaging device 12; a low-frequency pixel specifying section 15 for specifying a low-frequency pixel of which the frequency is lower than a predetermined frequency, from among pixels around the high-frequency pixel specified by the high-frequency pixel specifying section 14; and a drop determining section 16 for determining whether or not a shape formed from a set of low-frequency pixels specified by the low-frequency pixel specifying section is that of a drop.
