PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data conversion system for microfilms capable of converting a large amount of analog data stored in a microfilm into digital data and registering the digital data in a database without going through human resources. SOLUTION: The data conversion system for microfilms includes a photographing means for photographing a photographic image of a photography microfilm, a photographing stand for placing a microfilm, and a carrying means for carrying a microfilm supplied to a supply part to the photographing stand and carrying the photographed microfilm to a storing part. The photographing means includes a high resolution camera for imaging a photographic image in high resolution, and includes a memory which substantially expands and stores the photographed photographic image data in high resolution, a character recognizing part for performing character recognition of the stored picture image data and generating text data, and a database for storing the text data.
