PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which can lessen electrostatic coupling between an optical module where an optical component is mounted and a shield material disposed around the optical module, thereby improving photosensitivity. SOLUTION: The optical connector 1 includes an optical module 10 for conversion between an optical signal and an electrical signal, a housing 26 for supporting the optical module 10 and an optical fiber 7 and connecting them, and a shield material disposed around the optical module 10. The optical module 10 is formed by sealing an optical component in a resin block. The optical module 10 has one surface to which the optical fiber 7 is adjacent, and the other surface to which the shield material is adjacent. In the optical connector 1 as constructed above, a concave portion or a convex portion is formed on the surface to which the shield material of the resin block is adjacent, and a part of the resin block is separated from the shield material by the concave portion or the convex portion.
