PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of chipping due to the resin layers of blocks in contact with each other resulting from rattling produced between meshing portions with the travel of a belt. SOLUTION: The high load transmission V-belt comprises a plurality of blocks 20 provided in a tension zone and locked and fixed to one another with their meshing. On the upper side of the opposed faces of the adjacent blocks 20, 20 in a belt longitudinal direction, a stepped portion 27 is formed which is recessed in the belt longitudinal direction. A reinforcing member 26 formed of a highly elastic material is embedded in the block 20 at a position overlapped with the stepped portion 27 in view from the belt longitudinal direction.
