PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure capable of obtaining a sufficient reaction force against a collision load during a side collision of a vehicle, and securing a sufficient dwelling space in a vehicle. SOLUTION: In this vehicle body structure, a seat bracket 6 is separated from a floor cross member 7, and therefore, immediately after the side collision of the vehicle, a certain degree of the falling deformation of a center pillar 4 and a locker 3 is allowed. This prevents a concentration of a load to either of the center pillar 4 and the locker 3 so as to efficiently apply the collision load to the center pillar 4 and the locker 3. Also, the floor cross member 7 is arranged at a position for engaging and supporting the seat bracket 6 moved inside the vehicle by a predetermined amount by the falling deformation of the center pillar 4 and the locker 3 caused by the side collision of the vehicle. Thereby, after the center pillar 4 and the locker 3 are fallen and deformed by a predetermined amount, the seat bracket 6 is received by the floor cross member 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
