The present invention relates to the treatment of patients suffering from cachexia as a comorbidity of cancer using megestrol acetate (MA), in particular using megestrol acetate oral suspension (MegaceTM), more precisely using the advanced nanoparticulate formulation of megestrol acetate oral suspension having improved solubility and bioavailability (MegaceTM ES). The present invention further relates to the prevention and reduction of cardiovascular problems in cancer patients.
