<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tuning fork type piezoelectric vibrating reed and a tuning fork type piezoelectric resonator which have stable characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A tuning fork type piezoelectric vibrating reed 10 includes: a base 12 including a pair of cuts 26 provided opposite from each other and a constricted part 28 located between the pair of cuts 26, a pair of vibrating arms 14 extending from the base 12, and excitation electrodes 18 provided on the pair of vibrating arms 14 respectively. When the pair of vibrating arms 14 vibrate at a natural vibration frequency f<SB>com</SB>of a common mode at which the pair of vibrating arms 14 swing in the same direction, a node of the vibration in the common mode is located at the constricted part 28. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
