<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and more effective oral medicine useful in treating oral mucosal diseases. <P>SOLUTION: The agent for preventing or treating oral mucosal diseases includes sofalcone having a treatment effect on gastritis and gastric ulcer as an active ingredient. Of the oral mucosal diseases, a preferred object for application is stomatitis and a more preferred object of application is recurrent aphtha.
