PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuation device, relatively moving a slide part, a carrier and a base by using a length contraction occurred to a shape memory alloy component during its phase transformation from martensite to austenite, and of speeding up heat dissipation of the shape memory alloy component by utilizing thermal conductivity of the base, so that response time for actuating the carrier can be reduced. SOLUTION: The actuation device comprises a base 2, a plurality of slide parts 3 disposed on the base, a carrier 4 disposed thereon, a shape memory alloy member 5 disposed to surround the slide part along the outer surface of the slide part, and a spring member 6 disposed on the carrier to surround the outer surface of the carrier. The slide part is pushed and moved inwardly by the shape memory alloy member to actuate the carrier upwardly, whereby the spring member is compressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
