PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency compensation device and its method, which improve accuracy of frequency information, an information extraction device and an information extraction method using them, and their programs. SOLUTION: The frequency compensation device generates statistic numerical information for showing a certainty degree of each recognized word, from a database in which a recognized document is stored, by using a correct document corresponding to the recognized document, and corrects the frequency information by using the statistic numerical information.
