PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device using a seal material which has ultraviolet (UV) curability, is excellent in liquid crystal noncontaminating property and allows high-durability seal. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is obtained by placing glass substrates 1, 1' each having a formed alignment layer opposite to each other, laminating the substrates with the seal material 8 and encapsulating a liquid crystal, wherein the seal material 8 comprises a photopolymerizable cured product prepared by photopolymerizing a photopolymerizable composition (A) containing, as essential components, a hydrogenated elastomer derivative (x) having one or more (meth)acryloyl groups on at least one of both molecular ends and an inorganic filler (y) having a particle diameter of≤0.3μm, and parts of the glass substrates 1, 1' brought into contact with the seal material 8 are coated with a silane coupling agent of (meth)acryloxyalkylsilanes.
