A liquid crystal alignment agent is provided to ensure excellent liquid crystal optical orientation and vertical alignment power by polarized light ultraviolet rays, long lifespan, stable pretilt angle maintenance, improved afterimage characteristic, excellent liquid crystal optical orientation and chemical resistance. A liquid crystal alignment agent comprises a polysilane polymer and solvent. The polysilane polymer is prepared by polymerizing: any one selected from the group consisting of a compound represented by chemical formula 1: Si(R1)4, a compound represented by chemical formula 2: Si(R2)4, and a compound represented by chemical formula 3: (R4)3Si-(R3)n-Si(R4)3; and a second alkoxysilane compound represented by chemical formula 4: Si(R5)4.
