A catheter insertion device is provided, which suppresses the probability of being pierced by the needle end of the needle cannula. A catheter insertion device within a vein comprises: a barrel member(1) formed in a tubular shape; a needle cannula; a needle mounting unit which surrounds the needle cannula and which firmly supports it; a needle cannula member(2) which includes the retaining ring in order to surround the needle mounting unit; a plunging member(3) equipped with a reservoir unit contacting in the needle mounting unit; and a pressurization member(4) moving the reservoir unit and needle mounting unit to the back of the plunger body.
