<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main shaft unit for a machine tool capable of coping with both high-speed cutting and low-speed cutting in spite of a compact structure. <P>SOLUTION: The main shaft unit 1 for a machine tool comprises a main shaft 12, a front housing 11 for rotatably supporting the main shaft 12, a first rotor 13a fixed on the main shaft 12 and a first drive motor 13 having a first stator 13b fixed in the front housing 11, a rear housing 14 mounted on a rear end of the main shaft 12 of the front housing 11, a second drive motor 15 having a circular second rotor 15a rotatably supported in the rear housing 14 by being coaxially arranged with the main shaft 12 in the vicinity of the rear end of the main shaft 12 and a second stator 15b fixed in the rear housing 14, a connection mechanism 30 for connecting the rear end of the main shaft 12 and the second rotor 15b and releasing the connection, and a clamping mechanism 20 arranged in a mounting hole 12a of the main shaft 12 and the second rotor 15b and clamping a tool mounted on the main shaft 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
