PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs of a memory required for coordinate conversion for correcting chromatic aberration of magnification and distortion aberration in an image pickup apparatus using a wide-angle optical system with large chromatic aberration of magnification and distortion aberration. SOLUTION: A chromatic aberration of magnification correction processing and a distortion aberration correction processing are separated. In a chromatic aberration of magnification correction section 140, chromatic aberration of magnification is corrected, for each of pixel data of RGB color components, by converting coordinates using a memory such as a SRAM of small capacitance and low latency or of small capacitance and multi-port. At the same time, in a distortion aberration correction section 160, image data of RGB color components on which the chromatic aberration of magnification has been corrected, are collected and distortion aberration is corrected by converting coordinates using a memory such as a DRAM of large capacitance and high latency or of large capacitance and single port.
