PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the range of an image from being narrowed owing to image processing. SOLUTION: A scanning request including information of image reading setting by a user is inputted (S100), and image processing to be performed is specified on the basis of contents of the image reading setting (S200). The amount of missing pixels due to the specified image processing is taken into consideration to expand the range of an image to be processed (S300, S400), and the image processing is performed to the expanded image (S500).
