<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a reliable tracking cruise control without losing a leading vehicle, even if the output from a radar apparatus is reduced, when a vehicle stops. <P>SOLUTION: If a vehicle speed sensor Sb detects a state where the vehicle stops, a transmission output control means M1 causes a transmission output of the radar apparatus Sa to be reduced to the transmission output, while the vehicle stops lower than the transmission output, while the vehicle runs. If the increase in the distance between the vehicle and the leading vehicle is detected by the radar apparatus Sa while the vehicle stops, or the distance between the leading vehicle detected by the radar apparatus Sa is larger than a predetermined value while the vehicle stops, an informing means M3 informs passengers that the tracking cruise control is enabled, and a transmission output control means M1 increases the transmission output of the radar apparatus Sa so as to exceed the transmission output, while the vehicle stops.
