<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a BBW type braking device capable of performing backup of brake fluid pressure by a master cylinder without providing an opening/closing valve between the master cylinder and a slave cylinder when the slave cylinder breaks down during operation. <P>SOLUTION: Though a front part slave fluid pressure chamber 39B of the slave cylinder 23 is communicated with a rear part master fluid pressure chamber 13A of the master cylinder 11 via fluid passages Qb, Qa, the maximum distance between front/rear master pistons 72A, 72B for dividing the rear part master fluid pressure chamber 13A is regulated by a first regulation means 83, whereby the brake fluid pressure of the front part slave fluid pressure chamber 39B of the slave cylinder 23 is prevented from escaping to the rear part master fluid pressure chamber 13A side of the master cylinder 11 to securely operate wheel cylinders 20, 21. As a result, arrangement of the opening/closing valve conventionally necessary for the fluid passages Qb, Qa becomes unnecessary, thus contributing to reduction of the number of components. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
