PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cycloalkanol and/or a cycloalkanone by oxidizing a cycloalkane in good conversion. SOLUTION: The method for producing the cycloalkanol and/or the cycloalkanone includes oxidizing the cycloalkane with oxygen in the presence of a catalyst obtained by allowing a transition metal to be carried by calcium oxide. As the transition metal, at least one metal selected from cobalt, gold, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, ruthenium and palladium is preferable, and the cobalt and the gold are more preferable.
