PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which can obtain an effective correction value for horizontal line noise while limiting increase in chip area of an imaging element. SOLUTION: An imaging device includes an imaging element 101 for picking up an object image while converting into an electric signal, and a correction means for correcting an image picked up by means of the imaging element 101. The imaging element 101 includes a pixel signal read out circuit section 204 which reads out a signal of a pixel region 201 for each row through vertical signal lines H1-H4, a dummy signal read out circuit section 209 for reading out a dummy signal without being connected with a pixel and the vertical signal lines H1-H4, and a horizontal transfer circuit section 205 for transferring the outputs from the pixel signal read out circuit section 204 and the dummy signal read out circuit section 209. The correction means corrects the output from the pixel signal read out circuit section 204 for each row by using the output from the dummy signal read out circuit section 209.
