摘要 This aims to provide an omnidirectional rain gauge capable of measuring even the azimuth and inclination, at which rainwater has come flying. The omnidirectional rain gauge comprises a water receiving unit for receiving the rainwater, and a measurement unit for measuring the quantity of the rainwater received by the water receiving unit. The water receiving unit includes a plurality of conical cylinders having individually different heights and bottom portions on apex sides and overlaid to coextend or approach on the apex sides. The conical cylinders overlaid are partitioned by a plurality of partitions arrayed radially in a plurality of horizontal azimuth directions, thereby to form a plurality of water receiving cells. The individual partitions form semicircular shapes along virtually spherical outer circumferences, and the individual upper portions of the truncated cones on the opposite sides to the bottoms of the overlaid conical cylinders are sized to follow the virtually spherical outer circumferences. The measurement unit causes the quantities of the rainwater received by the individual water receiving cells in the water receiving unit to drop as water droplets of a predetermined weight, and detects the number of the falling water droplets for the individual water receiving cells, thereby to determine the quantities of the rainwater received by the individual water receiving cells, from the sum of the numbers of the water droplets detected.
