<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage battery capacity determining device in which a large-capacity load resistance for discharging a storage battery at a desirable current in a short time and a direct current switch for connecting the load resistance to the storage battery are unnecessary. <P>SOLUTION: This storage battery capacity determining device 1 determines abnormality in capacity of a storage battery 5 for supplying direct current power to an inverter 12 for supplying converted alternating current power to a motor 3 for converting direct current power to alternating current power and generating dynamic power for moving a mechanical load. This storage battery capacity determining device restricts operation of the motor, determines whether the motor is in a stop mode or not, and in the case wherein the motor in the stop mode is determined and direct current power is supplied from the only storage battery to the inverter, controls the inverter so that the current, which is flowing to the restricted motor in the stop mode, flows from the storage battery to the motor, detects terminal voltage of the storage battery when the current flows, and outputs the detected terminal voltage as a detected voltage value, and compares the detected voltage value with a reference voltage value, and when the detected voltage value is the reference voltage value or less, determines that capacity of the storage battery is abnormal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
