<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device for a vehicle capable of making a stand-by mechanism of a parking lock mechanism unnecessary. <P>SOLUTION: The drive device 2 has a second hub 26 capable of being integrally rotated with an output shaft 6; and a sleeve 28 for connecting the second hub 26 to a casing in the state that it is engaged with the second hub 26 retained to a predetermined rotation position and capable of being moved between an engagement position where it can non-rotatably restrict the output shaft 6 and a release position for releasing the connection, and is provided with a switching mechanism 10 capable of moving the sleeve 28 between the engagement position and the release position. Before the switching mechanism 10 moves the sleeve 28 from the release position to the engagement position, the output shaft 6 is rotated by a second motor generator 8 such that the second hub 26 is retained to the predetermined rotation position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
