PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine which can increase excitement and enjoyment of the variation of symbols by achieving a performance that allows its visual recognition being made look as if the shortened time of a symbol variation game were on going. SOLUTION: The valid operation period of an operation button for performance is set in a plurality during the variation of all symbol trains in a symbol variation game, each round from the start of the variation of symbols on all trains up to the display of the combination of symbols being defined and stopped. When the operation button for performance is operated during the valid operation period, one combination of symbols is selected and the combination of symbols selected is displayed once being stopped. Moreover, when the button is not operated during the valid operation period, the variation is continued without stopping all of the symbol trains upon the passage of the valid time.
