BASIC STRUCTURE OF ADSORBENT AND ADSORBENT PRODUCED THEREFROM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a basic structure of an adsorbent, which is excellent in water resistance and abrasion resistance and to provide the adsorbent which is produced by using the basic structure of the adsorbent and exhibits stable and high removal performance to the object to be adsorbed.

SOLUTION: The basic structure of the adsorbent is characterized in that diatomaceous earth is used as a principal component and metal iron of≥3% of the total dry weight of raw materials constituting the adsorbent is added. It is preferable that iron powder is used as the metal iron and the iron powder has≤300μm average particle size. The adsorbent is produced by adding acids to the basic structure of the adsorbent and phosphoric acid or polyphosphoric acid is used as the acids.
