PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure atmospheric pressure in a device casing without using any atmospheric pressure sensor and to correct the floating fluctuation amount of a head according to the atmospheric pressure. SOLUTION: A disk drive includes a power consumption detection means 23 for detecting the value of the power consumption of a spindle motor for rotating a recording medium, an atmospheric pressure calculation means 24 for calculating atmospheric pressure in the device from the value of power consumption, and a thermal expansion actuator as a floating amount correction means for correcting the floating amount of a head slider having a recording/reproducing head mounted thereon according to the atmospheric pressure in the device.
