PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiving apparatus capable of effectively searching a desired program from among many programs including broadcast programs in a first broadcast form and broadcast programs in a second broadcast form when a plurality of broadcast forms can be switched for reception. SOLUTION: A CPU 1 automatically selects a channel in the second broadcast format which broadcasts programs different from programs of a channel selected in a first broadcast format upon switching to the second broadcast format (12-seg broadcast) while an arbitrary channel is in the first broadcast format (e.g., 1-seg broadcast) is selectively received during receiving by switching a plurality of broadcast forms (e.g., 1-seg broadcast, 12-seg broadcast) from a television broadcast communication part 7.
