PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve quality and lifetime of a ceramic arc tube high luminance discharge lamp. SOLUTION: The ceramic arc tube high luminance discharge lamp includes an arc tube having an arc tube chamber of a long-side direction length "X" extended along a long side axis line, a cylindrical electrode narrow tube at each end part of the arc tube extended along the long side axis line, a cylindrical cover with a length to be about 1.45X surrounding the arc tube chamber, a cover fastener having a peripheral edge part engaging with an end part of the cover and a center part extending to a direction separating from the arc tube chamber arranged with an interval from the peripheral edge part, and attached in each end part of the cover, a narrow tube insertion part formed at a center part and insertion-coupled the narrow tube, and a web connecting the center part to the peripheral edge part.
