PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect efficiently scattered light or fluorescence by a small-sized device while coping with the reduction of the quantity of a sample solution. SOLUTION: In consideration of each refractive index of a transparent container storing the sample solution and air, scattered light or fluorescence emitted within a Brewster angle from the container side having a large refractive index to the atmospheric air side having a small refractive index is condensed on the front side and on the rear side by each different rotating elliptic mirror, and is allowed to enter a detector at a smaller angle than a Brewster angle.
