PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear resolver etc. capable of attaining stable and highly precise detection accuracy with remarkably reduced fluctuation of winding conductance without decreasing magnetic flux efficiency of magnetic core. SOLUTION: The linear resolver 30 comprises a plurality of pairs of magnetic stators 2 dividedly disposed on an elongated table and an elongated needle 20 of a magnetic material; each magnetic stator 2 of a pair of magnetic stators has a pair of stator pieces 11, 12 provided at both sides of a stator magnetic core to provide a space between the stator pieces and a winding member provided by winding around the stator magnetic core; the elongated needle 20 is provided reciprocatingly movable in linear direction in the space between the stator pieces of the magnetic stators; the winding member borne by one of the magnetic stators of the plurality of pairs of magnetic stators is a sheet coil where a conductor is formed in spiral on a sheet; and at least a part of the conductor-forming surface of the sheet or its back surface and the side surface of the stator magnetic core are disposed to face each other.
