PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial and mildewproof agent hardly causing aggregate and exhibiting excellent antimicrobial and mildewproof effects. SOLUTION: The powdery antimicrobial and mildewproof agent is obtained by mixing (A) a superacid salt of a quaternary ammonium with (B) an inorganic fine powder. The component (A) is preferably (A1) the superacid salt of the quaternary ammonium represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are the same or different and each a 1-22C aliphatic hydrocarbon group; R<SP>3</SP>is a 1-22C aliphatic hydrocarbon group, a 7-22C arylalkyl group or an 8-22C arylalkenyl group; R<SP>4</SP>is an 8-22C aliphatic hydrocarbon group; f is an integer of≥1; and X<SP>f</SP>- is an f-valent superacid ion).
