<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an excellent door closing operation while appropriately reducing the speed of a sliding door immediately before the end of door closing even if quickly bringing a door closing implement near the door closing side end of a sliding door in various storage furniture such as a cupboard, a bookshelf and a showcase or in a cabinet or a room partition. <P>SOLUTION: The door closing implement includes a bar-like casing 1 having lock grooves 12a, 12a on both longitudinal end sides; a cushioning damper 3 comprising a cylinder part 31 and a piston rod 32; hook members 4, 4 journaled (42a, 42a) to the base end of the cylinder part 31 and to the tip of the piston rod 32 respectively; and a tensile elastic body 5 provided between both opposed hook members 4, 4.
