<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting the deterioration of the performance of a wind turbine in order to perform operation favorably at a constant peripheral speed ratio without the use of an anemometer. <P>SOLUTION: In a straight wing vertical axis wind turbine performing operation at the constant peripheral speed ratio without the use of the anemometer, a load characteristic is changed during operation, and when the operating behavior of a system before and after the change, in other words, the performance of the wind turbine is deteriorated, the positive and the negative of rotating conductance on the wind turbine side in an operating action point (the intersecting point of the load characteristic and a wind turbine output characteristic) are reversed before and after the change in the load characteristic. This performance decrement monitoring method for the wind turbine considers the response of the system as a monitoring index while making use of the fact that the response of the system is varied greatly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
