<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive applicator in a bookbinding device, the adhesive applicator being interrupted few times for refilling with an adhesive and simultaneously being capable of shortening the downtime in case of applying the adhesive to a bundle of sheets continuously. <P>SOLUTION: The adhesive applicator comprises: an adhesive storage vessel (10) for storing the adhesive; an application roll (30) freely rotatably mounted in the adhesive storage vessel (10); an adhesive supply means (55) supplying a hot-melt adhesive to the adhesive storage vessel (10); a heating means (20) melting the adhesive in the adhesive storage vessel (10); and a refilling amount control means (62) controlling the refilling amount of the adhesive of the adhesive supply means (55). The refilling amount control means (62) establishes the refilling adhesive amount based on the information from an adhesive amount-detecting means (22a) mounted on the adhesive storage vessel (10) and a remaining number-discriminating means (63) discriminating the remaining number of sheet bundles to which the adhesive is applied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
