PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical coupler that is convenient, small and inexpensive. SOLUTION: The optical coupler 60 that is arranged on a tray (not shown) mounted in a closure 50 has a video coupler part 70-1 and a data coupler part 70-2 built in, so that the number of optical couplers in use can be made one. The video optical fiber strand 62-1 to 62-4 and the data optical fiber strand 62-a to 62-d drawn from the optical coupler 60 are paired by two each, made into two-core ribbons and coupled to each other, so that the selection of the two pieces is facilitated in a connecting operation, with workability greatly improved. For example, in the case where a certain user's home has a data circuit already installed and where a video circuit is to be added at a later date, there is no need of newly installing an additional video optical coupler in the closure 50. As a result, no connecting arrangement of optical fibers strand (or optical fiber cores) incidental to the additional optical coupler installation is necessary, which results in superior workability.
