PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a powertrain with a means for temporarily enlarging the output from a battery at a low voltage, despite assuming a BHEV constitution which is fuel-efficient and is not required to obtain a maximum capacity or a maximum weight of an electric machine and the battery for driving vehicle wheels. SOLUTION: The powertrain has the battery for driving the electric machine coupled with the vehicle wheels and two batteries to be charged by a generator and connects the charging batteries to the driving battery in series during making a rapid acceleration operation of an engine.
