PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire accompanying data included in digital radio broadcasting even when reproducing analog radio broadcasting. SOLUTION: A broadcast receiver is capable of receiving digital broadcasting in which accompanying data has been multiplexed and analog broadcasting corresponding to the digital broadcasting. The broadcast receiver has: a reproduction means selectively reproducing the digital broadcasting and the analog broadcasting; a digital signal strength detection means detecting a reception strength of a digital broadcasting signal corresponding to the analog broadcasting during reproduction of the analog broadcasting by the reproduction means; and an accompanying data acquisition means acquiring the accompanying data of the digital broadcasting depending on the reception strength of the detected digital broadcasting signal.
