PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet aligning device satisfying a registering function of sheets discharged on a tray and considering safety. SOLUTION: A pair of sheet registering members 5 for registering the sheets P discharged on the tray 3 and a rotating and driving means 6 for driving the pair of the sheet registering members 5 are separated, and the rotating and driving means 6 is arranged at the inside of an outer trim of this sheet aligning device 1. As a result, a user is not injured by the rotating and driving means 6, even if touching the sheet aligning device 1, and the registering property of the sheets P on the tray 3 can be improved.
