Disclosed is a novel pest control agent, particularly an insecticide or an acaricide. Specifically disclosed is a substituted dihydroazole compound represented by the general formula (1) below or a salt thereof. Also disclosed is a pest control agent containing such a substituted dihydroazole compound or a salt thereof. (In the formula, A1, A2, A3 and A4 independently represent C-Y or N; A5 represents -CH2- or the like; G1 represents a benzene ring or the like; G2 represents a structure represented by one of the following formulae G2-1, G2-6, and G2-9:or the like; X represents a halogen atom, a C1-C2 haloalkyl or the like; Z represents a methyl, -NH2 or the like; R1 represents -C(O)R1a or the like; R1a represents a C1-C4 alkyl or the like; R2 represents a hydrogen atom, a C1-C4 alkyl or the like; R3 represents a C1-C2 haloalkyl or the like; R4 represents a hydrogen atom, a cyano, a methyl or the like; m represents an integer such as 1, 2 or 3; and n represents an integer of 0 or 1.)
