MOBILE MEDIA DEVICE FOR EFFECTIVELY EXECUTING VM-BASED MOBILE APPLICATION PROGRAMS ON EXTERNAL MEMORY, AND OPERATING METHOD FOR THE SAME

A mobile media device for effectively executing a virtual machine-based mobile application program on an external memory and an operation method thereof are provided to install and execute the mobile application program without the necessity of modifying a virtual machine equipped in the mobile media device. A firmware(30) checks whether an external memory(60) connected through an external data input and output unit(10) exists, and then whether the installation program for a virtual machine-based mobile application program on an external memory exists. When the mobile application program is installed by a virtual machine(40), the firmware informs the virtual machine that the installation program exists within an internal memory(50) and then constructs a virtual database(20) to provided it to the virtual machine. The virtual database integratedly manages the mobile application programs installed in the internal and external memories.
