PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor excellent in ESR characteristics and productivity by improving defects caused when an exterior resin leaked from the boundary of the cope and the drag of a mold die gets into the lower sides of positive electrode and negative electrode terminals. SOLUTION: In this solid electrolytic capacitor comprising a capacitor element having a positive electrode part and a negative electrode part, a positive electrode terminal electrically connected with the positive electrode part, a negative electrode terminal electrically connected with the negative electrode part, and the exterior resin to coat the capacitor element, the negative electrode terminal has an upper step portion brought into surface contact with the negative electrode part, and a lower step portion exposed from the exterior resin, and the lower end side of the exterior resin is almost flush with the upper side of the lower step portion.
