PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a capping mechanism which hinders adhesion of marks of an ink to a nozzle surface for a long time. SOLUTION: An inclined surface 40d is formed to an edge part 40b of a cap 40 which caps a recording head 30. The edge part 40b is larger than an outline of the recording head 30, and an outer edge part 31a of the recording head 30 comes in contact with the inclined surface 40d at the time of capping. The edge part 40b is accordingly prevented from coming into contact with the nozzle surface 31, so that adhesion of stains by the ink can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
