Method for applying sealing profiles on vehicle chasses comprises rolling a sealing profile (2) with an adhesive layer (12) on the chassis or a part (3) of a chassis and measuring the relative speed between the sealing profile or the vehicle chassis or part of the chassis and the application unit directly on the site of the rolling of the sealing profile. An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the above method. Preferred Features: The sealing profile is guided up to a pressure roller (4) using driving and/or guiding elements.
