A digital image processing device and a controlling method thereof are provided to selectively reproduce a particular image among stored image files, thereby determining reproduction order of the image files in consideration of a user's pattern. The current image file to be reproduced according to accumulated reproduction time when image files are reproduced is selected. The current image file is reproduced(S350). The accumulated reproduction time of the current image file is updated. When the accumulated reproduction time is updated, a start time when the current image file starts to be reproduced is stored. An expiry time when the current image file finishes reproduction is stored(S370). A reproduction time of the current image file is calculated from a difference between the start time and the expiry time.
