The method involves converting an electrical control signal into a hydraulic pilot pressure by a proportional valve (1). The hydraulic pilot pressure controls a hydraulic sequence system. The proportional valve provides an auxiliary impulse for beginning the change of the electrical control signal. The auxiliary impulse has a current pulse, whose level and duration are adapted depending on the system temperature.
