The device has an adjusting unit (10) e.g. adjusting screw, connected with a hinge part (14) of a hinge device of a door for vertical position adjustment of the hinge part. The adjusting unit is supported in an inner side (12) of a base (8) of a household appliance i.e. baking-oven. The adjusting unit is accessible from outer side through the base for operation. A unit head (11) of the adjusting unit is mounted in the inner side of the base. The base exhibits a passage opening by which the adjusting unit is accessible from outer side. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting a door of a household appliance.
