The device has a support lower frame with guidance units for guiding a support upper frame (1). A receiving and guidance device (5) receives and guides cutting tools (6) i.e. punch. A guidance unit (16) holds and guides a stripper plate (17). A holding and supplying device is arranged at the lower frame for holding and supplying sheet metal under the tools. A separating device separates the sheet metal. The upper frame is provided as base components that cooperate in such a manner that cutting processes are executable on the sheet metal guided in the holding and supplying device. An independent claim is also included for a method for abrasive testing cutting tools.
