A method for manufacturing an alumina nano hole array and magnetic recording medium is provided to suppress the growth of the particle when forming film using aluminum ingredient. A method for manufacturing a alumina nano hole array and magnetic recording medium comprises: a process of forming an anluminum thin film on a substrate under -80 °C; and a process of anodizing the aluminum thin film. Over 99.9% of purity of the aluminum is formed.
